Mandalay Resources owns 100% of the La Quebrada Project, a 15,150 hectare copper-silver prospect located approximately 25-kilometers northeast of the major port of La Serena-Coquimbo, in northern Chile. Based upon previous exploration programs, geologists working the La Quebrada Project have determined the copper occurrence is related to the reduced-facies subtype of Sediment-hosted Copper Deposits (SCD).
Mandalay has acquired the option to acquire six additional new properties. The properties, Los Santos Ladrones, Las Rockeras, El Garrafal, Las Marianas, Las Santas Musas and Las Gaviotas mineral projects, are located in the Fourth Region (Central Chile), 80 kms. north of the twin cities La Serena and the port of Coquimbo. The properties are next to the principal paved highway, connecting to the latter. They are located in the "Iron Belt", a prolific copper, gold and iron ore sector of the Atacama Fault System, which hosts, among others, world class mines; La Candelaria (FMC), Manto Verde (Anglo American). These large individual properties have been classified by experts (IOCGD), of having the potential of the latter geological model. | Mar 09, 2010: News Releases: Mandalay Resources Delivers Costerfield Mine Ramp-...
